  • ​O-Sensei Alexey Kunin received a classical education in the USA and Russia, studying Oriental Philosophy and Political Science at Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles, CA) and International Relations at Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health (St. Petersburg, Russia).
  • Alexey Kunin is a U.S. Army veteran and graduate of the U.S. Army Medical School, Academy of Health Sciences, specializing in Physical Therapy and Behavioral Science. He received a Recognition Award from the U.S. Surgeon General for his contributions to the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He also taught Combat Ju-Jitsu to U.S. Army Special Forces and medical personnel during the Panama War (1989) and the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm, 1991).

  • ​O-Sensei Alexey Kunin holds the title of Dai Yokoyori Gunshi in Saigo-ha Daito Ryu Aiki Bujutsu (Senior Military Adviser to the Military Commander of the Great Eastern Army). The title was conferred by Gunshi Dr. John J. Williams (34th Generation Headmaster and Head Family of Daito Ryu Aikibudo).
  • O-Sensei Alexey Kunin is a Successor and Menkyo Kaiden (License of Total Transmission) of Denora-ha Daito Ryu Aiki Bujutsu, a title awarded by Gunshi Dr. John J. Williams.

  • ​O-Sensei Alexey Kunin holds a Menkyo Kaiden (License of Total Transmission) in Katabami Ryu Ju-Jitsu of the Kagami Kusa Katabami Ju-Jitsu Clan, awarded by Grandmaster Kenta Tanemura.

  • ​O-Sensei Alexey Kunin is Headmaster and Head Family of the Katabami Ju-Jitsu Clan, a title awarded by Grandmaster Kenta Tanemura of the Kagami Kusa Katabami Ju-Jitsu Clan.
